Police advise public of traffic changes in St. Catherine and St. James for political rallies today
The police are advising the public that there will be several traffic changes in sections of St. Catherine and St. James to facilitate two political mass rallies today.
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP)’s mass meeting is to be held at the Old Harbour Roundabout, St. Catherine today at 4:00 P.M.
While the People’s National Party (PNP) public meeting is to be held at Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay in St. James this evening.
The traffic changes for the JLP rally took effect at 8:00 A.M. and will remain until 12:00 midnight.
The police say the Spanish Town Bypass will be closed at Duncans Pen Road.
Also the road leading from the PJ Patterson Toll heading towards the Old Harbour Road Roundabout will be closed at the Cromarty Road traffic light.
It said Old Harbour Road will be closed at the intersection of McVickers Lane and the Spanish Town Bypass at the intersection of St. Johns Road.
As for the PNP rally, the traffic changes affect sections of Sam Sharpe Square, St. James Street, Market Street, Lawrence Lane, Union Street, Long Lane, Orange Street, King Street, Harbour Street, St. Clavers Avenue and other areas.
