The People’s National Party (PNP) has called for Mayor of May Pen Joel Williams to step down and allow for the installation of a mayor from the People’s National Party.

The call from PNP President Mark Golding follows victory in last Friday’s by-election in the Aenon Town Division in Clarendon.

He said with each party having 11 divisions and the PNP winning the popular vote, the right and proper thing is for Mayor Williams to step down.

Mr. Golding did not say what legal action the PNP would take.

He spoke at a press conference yesterday.
