PNP reschedules its Kingston and St. Andrew parish meeting in interest of public safety
The People’s National Party (PNP) has rescheduled its Kingston and St. Andrew parish meeting, in the interest of public safety.
This after concerns were raised about both the PNP and the Jamaica Labour Party scheduling rallies in the Corporate Area for Sunday August 10.
Some groups had called for a change of location or a rescheduled date, citing a rise in political tension.
In a statement today, PNP President Mark Golding said Sunday’s meeting was expected to be the final leg of the Party’s National Mobilisation Campaign, which began on July 4.
He said, in the interest of public safety, and to avoid any strain on the police, the PNP has decided to reschedule the meeting.
He urged party supporters to embrace peace.
