PNP calls for JLP’s Dean Jones to removed as candidate in upcoming election following viral video
The opposition People’s National Party, (PNP) is calling for the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP’s, Dean Jones to be, removed as a candidate for the upcoming Local Government Election.
He is the candidate for the Trinityville Division.
The call follows a fight between Jones and a PNP supporter in Springfield, St. Thomas on Monday.
Jones is seen in a video tussling with the PNP supporter and pulling what appears to be a firearm.
The St. Thomas police are investigating the incident.
In condemning the incident, Opposition Spokesman on Citizen Security Peter Bunting said such behaviour undermines citizen’s democratic values.
He wants JLP leader and Prime Minister Andrew Holness to remove Jones as a candidate.
