PM says government understands economic pressure being felt by Jamaicans
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government understands the pressure being felt by Jamaicans, as they deal with the economic challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to inflation.
Mr. Holness states that this is a miserable time for households.
He says Jamaica is experiencing a remarkable economic rebound from the pandemic, and that the economy remains on a strong growth trajectory, with inflation trending down.
The Prime Minister explains that the strategy is to get income levels up, as well as increase productivity, thereby fueling economic growth.
He says the government has managed the economy in its recovery from a global threat.
