PM to probe reports of massive increases in price of fuel, food and other items in Westmoreland following passage of Hurricane Melissa
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says an investigation will be launched into reports of massive increases in the price of fuel, food and other items in Westmoreland, following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
The matter was brought up by Member of Parliament for Westmoreland Western, Ian Hayles, in the House of Representatives yesterday.
In response, Dr. Holness noted that the Commerce Ministry is aware of the situation and a probe will be conducted.
He stressed that everyone is expected to exercise discretion at this time, in favour of the national recovery.
