Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the Yallahs leg of the South Coast Highway is expected to boost the economic opportunities of the country.

Speaking at the official opening ceremony yesterday, the Prime Minister who noted that critics will seek to highlight negatives about the project said that the country cannot be better without the creation of wealth.

He said this wealth will be created among the people who will be impacted by the infrastructural upgrade.

Mr Holness said the notion that poverty can end without the creation of wealth is false.

He noted that other improvement projects to the parish form part of the mission of bringing wealth to St Thomas and to the country.
