PM Holness says Negril residents to receive more water relief amid lingering drought
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says residents of Negril Westmoreland are to receive more water relief amid the lingering drought.
Westmoreland is among western parishes being adversely affected by the ongoing drought.
Last month, some residents mounted roadblocks in the retreat community, in protest over the water crisis.
Speaking with reporters at a function in St. Elizabeth today, Mr. Holness said plans are in place to remedy the issue.
He said among these plans is reducing the quantity of calcium salt in one of the water mains.
Mr. Holness added that further investments will be made to mitigate existing water challenges.
