PM Holness reminds citizens to use generators safely
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness is reminding citizens to use generators safely.
His caution follows the reported death of a man in Trelawny due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
The identity of the deceased has not been released and the police were unable to provide further details on the incident.
But, during yesterday’s tour of the Falmouth hospital which was badly damaged by Hurricane Melissa, Dr. Holness said he received reports of deaths following the storm as well as cases of carbon monoxide poisoning.
He said generators must be operated outdoors and away from enclosed spaces, to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
