PM Holness outlines key assignments for two new Ministers sworn in this morning
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the reform of Government bureaucracy will be one of two areas of critical importance assigned to newly-minted Minister Audrey Marks.
She was sworn in as the Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for efficiency, innovation and digital transformation.
Mr. Holness has advised Minister Marks to establish an advisory task force to assist with her assignment.
Mr. Holness said there is no doubt that the stringent fiscal policies implemented to control excessive Government spending have been successful.
He noted, however, that these layers of controls, checks and balances have given rise to a new challenge.
In the meantime, Mr. Holness said the new State Minister of Tourism Delano Seiveright has been assigned specific responsibilities for linkages between tourism and the general economy.
