Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has confirmed that a by election will not be held for the Seivwright Gardens Division on September 3.

He spoke today after being nominated as the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate for St. Andrew West Central.

Director of Elections Glaspole Brown told IRIE FM News yesterday that nominations would not be accepted today for the Seivwright Gardens division.

The Prime Minister and Local Government Minister had announced the election date at a recent rally in Half Way Tree.

However, Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby raised concerns about the procedure for announcement.
