PM Holness announces SPEED taskforce aimed at improving pace at which business is conducted in Jamaica

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced the establishment of a task-force aimed at improving the pace at which business is conducted in the country.

He made the announcement at the Jamaica Stock Exchange’s 20th Regional Investments and Capital Markets Conference in Kingston last evening.

The Streamlining Processes for Efficiency and Economic Development (SPEED) task-force will be in place by the end of February.

Mr. Holness said its members will identify bottlenecks —points in a business process where the flow of work becomes delayed or breaks down— recommend actionable solutions, and deliver tangible outcomes.

Meantime, he said the National Identification System (NIDS) will be critical in making it easier for individuals to conduct business.
