Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has strongly condemned the murder of two constables, along Waltham Park road in St. Andrew, last evening. 

Dead are 30-year-old Charles Stewart, who was attached to the Spanish Town Police, and 32-year-old Jemarey Gordon, from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch. 

In a statement, the Prime Minister said, he has been fully briefed by the Police High Command, and assured that the investigation is active and unwavering. 

Cardel Insang, and junior brown, are wanted in relation to the incident and are being urged to surrender to the police. 

Another suspect, Macarius Munroe turned himself in this afternoon.

Dr. Holness said the police will not relent until those responsible are brought to justice.

And, the People’s National Party PNP, in condemning the brutal murders, said the vicious attack is an assault on law-and-order and on all Jamaicans who rely on the security forces to protect them.

Opposition Spokesperson on Security Fitz Jackson, noted that the deadly incident comes at a time when Jamaica is still reeling from the painful losses caused by Hurricane Melissa.

Meanwhile, the PNP has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Jamaica Constabulary Force and for every member of the security services who puts their lives on the line in service of the nation, daily.
