Prime Minister Andrew Holness says his administration has been taking all the necessary steps to ensure that the process of transitioning Portmore to parish status is smooth.

He made the statement during a tour of the Portmore Resilience Park in St. Catherine today.

Noting that the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) has been trying to hinder the process Mr. Holness said the Government has been trying to make the process easy.

He also assured that residents were consulted about Portmore becoming Jamaica’s 15th parish.

He said Portmore, as a parish, will boast improved urban infrastructure.
