Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has been conferred with his Doctor of Law and Policy degree.

Dr. Holness graduated from the Northeastern University College of Professional Studies in the United States, yesterday.

In a statement Dr. Holness said, May 1 marked the completion of another phase in his personal and  professional development, a pursuit born out of a deep desire to examine the root causes and complex dimensions of violence in Jamaica, from a more scientific, psycho-social, and geo-political perspective.

He said the aim is to design policies and implement strategies that effectively and holistically address gun violence, from prevention to prosecution.

Dr. Holness is encouraging every Jamaican to seek knowledge and to empower themselves through education.
