Plastic lunch boxes to be banned as of December 31
A ban will be imposed on the use of plastic lunch boxes effective December 31, as efforts continue to shift to more sustainable options.
Environment Minister Matthew Samuda made the announcement, yesterday.
It comes years after government imposed a ban on styrofoam containers which resulted in some persons circumventing the measure by switching to plastic containers.
Mr. Samuda said the plastic lunch box ban is intended to close that loophole.
Mr. Samuda also announced a ban on personal care products that contain micro–plastics.
