Pilot phase of Black Water Tank project to be rolled out next week says PM
The pilot phase of the Black Water Tank project will be rolled out next week.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness gave the update in parliament on Tuesday. It will set in motion the government’s overall plan to install about 50,000 tanks across the island, to help in mitigating the impact of drought and building water resilience at the household level.
Holness said the Inter-American Development Bank i-d-b, has partnered with the government to implement the project.
He said the pilot phase will target areas in eastern parishes.
And the prime minister noted that the tanks will be geo-tagged, for proper monitoring.
The pilot phase is expected to be completed by December, after which the project will be expanded to all rural constituencies.
