The city of Lima in Peru has been chosen to host the Pan American Games in 2027 seeing off the challenge of Asuncion in Paraguay.

This comes after two intense months of candidacy and the extraordinary General assembly of Panam Sports in Miami today.

Both cities gave a 40-minute presentation to the assembly led by the Presidents of the Olympic committees of both Peru and Paraguay.

Their presentations featured videos and messages from top government leaders before they submitted to questions from the participating member countries.

After that, a virtual vote was held, and after a few minutes, the President of the Pan Am Sports sports Neven Ilic announced the winner

Lima Peru last hosted the Pan Am Games in 2019.
