Pakistan retains Mohammad Rizwan as skipper for 3 match ODI series against the West Indies

Mohammad Rizwan has been retained by Pakistan as skipper for the upcoming three match One-Day International series against the West Indies.

Rizwan’s captaincy was in danger after Pakistan crashed out in the first round of the Champions Trophy in March followed by a 3-nil defeat in New Zealand.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said, Rizwan will continue to lead Pakistan in the ODI format, and his 16-member squad includes only one uncapped player in Hassan Nawaz.

The ODI series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago starting on August 8.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and the West Indies will also face off in three T/20 internationals, which comes before the ODI games.

The T/20 series gets going with the first match on July 31 in Florida.

Meanwhile, Salman Agha will captain the T20i side, with fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali and pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi recalled after missing the Bangladesh series.

Pakistan lost the three-match T/20 International Series in Bangladesh 2-1 on Thursday, their first T/20 International series defeat against their opponents.
