PAJ welcomes arrest of main suspect in veteran journalist Barbara Gayle’s murder

The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) has welcomed news of yesterday’s arrest of the main suspect in the murder of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle.

Ms. Gayle’s body was discovered at her home in the Caymanas Estate Country Club on Tuesday morning.

She was reportedly hit in the head and stabbed several times.

Yesterday, investigators located the motor vehicle that went missing from her home.

Reacting to the main suspect’s apprehension, PAJ President Dashan Hendricks lauded the progress of the Jamaica Constabulary Force in its efforts to solve Ms. Gayle’s murder.

Meanwhile, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Court Administrative Division, Tricia Cameron-Anglin is the latest person to offer tribute to the journalist.

She says Ms. Gayle was a trailblazer in court reporting, and her contributions have left an indelible mark on both journalism and the judiciary.

Mrs. Cameron-Anglin says Gayle’s impact on the judiciary will not be forgotten.
