Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has pointed out that if peace is maintained in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, this would embolden more investors to set up business in the area.

He was speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of the MJS Industrial and Technology Park in Spanish Town.

Dr. Holness noted that the former textile factory site had remained dormant due to the perception that the area was unsafe.

Dr. Holness stressed that the authorities have been making significant gains in tackling crime and violence in Spanish Town, adding that criminals will not be allowed to prevent law abiding citizens from achieving their goals.

He described the over US $50 m facility developed by the Musson group, as a meaningful chapter in Jamaica’s journey towards reclaiming its industrial ambitions.
