Over 300 people murdered in the country since January
Jamaica’s 2024 murder tally has surpassed the 300 mark.
311 people were killed up to Saturday, April 13.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 50 fewer than the 361 homicides recorded in the corresponding period last year.
St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 41, followed by St. Catherine South with 29 and Westmoreland with 28.
Portland recorded the least number of murders with two, followed by St. Thomas with three.
