Over 1500 care packages were distributed to residents of St. Ann through IRIE FM’s One One Cocoa Relief Drive, yesterday.

The initiative, which is a response to Hurricane Melissa, is being spearheaded by Announcer DJ Sunshine.

Among the communities which benefited are Alderton, Harmony Vale, Rickly Pole, Nine Mile and Thatch Hill.

The packages contained, food, water, clothes, and toiletries among other things.

DJ Sunshine, thanked persons who donated items.

She said the yellow moon foundation and other partners also contributed to the initiative.

Noting that the initiative was launched in St. Ann because the parish suffered damage from the category 5 storm and it is the home of IRIE FM, DJ Sunshine assured that residents in Western Jamaica will benefit soon.
