Over 100 taxi operators participated in search for their missing St. Catherine colleague, today

Some 100 transport operators turned out in Pleasant Hill St. Catherine today, in search of their missing colleague, Rushane Wilkins.

Mr. Wilkins was last heard from on Friday when he reportedly took a job to transport passengers from one of the island’s airports.

Speaking with IRIE FM News today, President of the Bog Walk and Linstead Taxi Association, Michelle Taffe said Mr. Wilkins’ burnt out vehicle was found by the police.

She said while past experiences have caused her hope to dwindle, she is praying that Mr. Wilkins will be found alive.

She said Mr. Wilkins is well respected among his peers.

The search began after 9 this morning and ended at about 2pm.

Ms. Taffe said the taxi operators will resume the search for Mr. Wilkins on Wednesday.

In the meantime, the police are calling on anyone who may have information on how to locate Mr. Wilkins to contact them, at 876-984-2305, 119 police emergency number or the nearest police station.
