Opposition wants Gov’t to pay teachers lump sum salary at the start of summer to reduce last-minute resignations
Opposition Spokesman on Education, Damion Crawford has suggested that teachers are paid a lump sum salary at the start of the summer holidays to reduce last-minute resignations in August.
This amidst concerns that teachers continue to resign days before the start of the new academic year annually.
Speaking at a press conference this morning (September 4) Mr Crawford said the Government should go back to the drawing board regarding salary, which he says is a major push factor leading to teacher resignations.
Mr. Crawford also wants investments to be made to upgrade staff rooms, motor vehicle concessions to be offered to educators and a reduction in student loans for educators.
