Opposition urges teachers not to be bullied into signing Gov’t’s new compensation package
The Opposition People’s National Party is encouraging the nation’s teachers not to be swayed by the Government’s warning to sign the new compensation agreement, before the month’s end.
Finance Minister, Dr Nigel Clarke has urged public sector groups to accept the wage offer, as there would be no room in the next budget to accommodate payments for the 2022/2023 fiscal year.
Speaking at a press briefing this morning (March 8), Opposition Spokesperson on Education, Damion Crawford said the country is being bullied by the Government with half-truths and baseless accusations that have become key indicators of negotiations being held without good faith.
Mr Crawford said there are simple remedies that can be implemented to pay teachers in the new fiscal year.
