In light of an announcement by the World Health Organization W-H-O, that the Monkeypox outbreak has been declared a global health emergency of international concern, Opposition Spokesman on Health and Wellness, Dr. Morais Guy says the ministry must increase public education awareness about Monkeypox.

Earlier this month, Jamaica recorded its first case of Monkeypox.

Last week, Irie Fm News was informed, that the patient was stable and recovering, however, efforts to get further updates have proven futile.

Dr. Guy adds that the ministry must provide the public with information on the matter.
