Opposition Senator Damion Crawford has stressed the need for a national health insurance in Jamaica, to tackle health poverty.

Speaking in the Senate yesterday, as the Upper House acknowledged the observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Senator Crawford noted that many citizens who are less fortunate face challenges accessing healthcare.

He called for a new approach that will help address “health poverty”.
