Opposition Senator expresses concern that legislative amendments not properly contained to allow persons to easily identify changes
There is concern that amendments to the nation’s legislation are not properly contained to allow persons to easily and readily identify all changes.
The matter was raised during this morning’s meeting of the Senate Standing Orders Committee.
Opposition Senator Donna Scott-Mottley noted that the status quo is unacceptable.
Her concern was echoed by Chairman, Senator Charles Sinclair jr, who stressed that regular citizens, not just Parliamentarians should be able to understand the legislation and any change made.
