The Opposition says there was no surprise with the September 3 election date announced by the Prime Minister.

General Secretary Dr. Dayton Campbell put forward those dates at the party’s meeting in Portland on Saturday night.

Meantime, Opposition Leader Mark Golding said the government was running scared.

He told PNP supporters last night that the election “called itself.”

The Opposition Leader pointed out that the PNP will be intensifying its election campaign with its message of hope.
