Opposition names members for Constitutional Reform Committee
The Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) has named its representatives for the constitutional reform committee.
It follows the Vale Royal talks on Sunday, during which the government clarified its position on the specific matters of concern to the opposition relating to the planned review of Jamaica’s constitution.
The two representatives of the opposition on the constitutional reform committee will be Senator Donna Scott-Mottley and Anthony Hylton.
Opposition Leader Mark Golding said the matter has once again demonstrated the value of the Vale Royal talks in allowing constructive dialogue in a setting which facilitates candid discussions on issues of concern.
In participating in the deliberations of this constitutional reform committee, the opposition has assured Jamaicans of its steadfast commitment to doing all that’s within its power to ensure the protection of their hard-won rights and freedoms.
