Opposition Leader says Jamaica is in need of “divine intervention”
Opposition Leader and President of the People’s National Party, PNP, Mark Golding says the country is in need of “divine intervention”.
The same statement was made by party member, Peter Bunting, years ago during his tenure as Minister of National Security.
Mr. Bunting had made the comment in relation to the country’s crime situation, stating that divine intervention would be needed to remedy the issue.
Mr. Bunting was criticized for his statement, with some citizens labeling him as incompetent for the portfolio.
However, while speaking at the church service to mark the 84th Anniversary of the PNP this morning (September 11), Mr. Golding reiterated the statement.
He said he is not ashamed to say that the country is in need of divine intervention, as citizens are suffering due to crime and other issues.
He said the church, like the PNP will bring hope to the country.
