Opposition dismisses suggestions that recent abduction of popular JLP worker was politically motivated
The opposition People’s National Party has sought to dismiss suggestions that the recent abduction of a popular Jamaica Labour Party worker was politically motivated.
Lorna “Nikki” Robertson was abducted by persons in a van near Downer Avenue in Swallowfield, St. Andrew on Friday, May 30.
Camera footage of the incident shows a woman who appears to be Ms. Robertson walking along the roadway when a van pulls up beside her.
A man who was also walking along the roadway pulled Ms. Robertson into the vehicle which then sped away.
The police have launched an investigation in the matter.
Lawmen reported last evening that they have found a vehicle which they believe could be linked to the abduction.
Speaking at a divisional meeting yesterday, Member of Parliament for St. Andrew South Eastern, Julian Robinson addressed the matter.
He stated that Ms. Robertson was well-liked .
Mr. Robinson condemned any suggestion that the matter is connected to politics.
