Opposition calls for Vale Royal talks to be on broader national security strategies
Opposition Leader Mark Golding says the Vale Royal talks should be on broader national security strategies, and not just states of emergency (SOEs).
At a press briefing yesterday (December 28), the Government signalled its intention to seek consensus with the Opposition on the matter of SOEs, in January, next year.
Mr Golding said he hopes the Prime Minister is serious about the discussions and that the conversation will take a more fulsome approach to national security.
Meantime, Mr Golding said the Opposition has received legal advice on the two recent states of emergency, declared this month.
He explained that based on the legal advice received, it is likely that the court will declare the recent declaration of SOEs unconstitutional.
