Operators of Sunbeam Boys Home head to court today
The operators of the Sunbeam Boys Home in St. Catherine will be heading to court today to submit its response to an affidavit filed by the Youth Ministry and the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, CPFSA.
The court documents were served on the home’s operators, yesterday.
This following reports from the CPFSA about allegations of child abuse at the home, revocation of the home’s licence, and the issuance of a closure notice.
The agency is awaiting a court order to remove the boys and relocate them to other state facilities.
Manager of the home, Desmond Whitely told Irie FM News that up to late last evening, the documents served were being perused by an attorney, and a response was being prepared.
Mr. Whitely said they have already identified aspects of the claims, made by the CPFSA as being untrue.
He again stressed that the CPFSA’s approach defies protocol and is unfair.
