Only persons permitted by authorities should set off fireworks during tonight’s New Year festivities
Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gary McKenzie has warned that only persons permitted by the authorities should set off fireworks during tonight’s New Year festivities.
ACP McKenzie said fireworks are extremely dangerous and can lead to serious harm or injury.
He warned that the police will take action against unauthorized users.
Annual Firework Festivals will be held tonight at Ocho Rios Bay Beach, in St. Ann, Harmony Beach in St. James and the Waterfront in Downtown, Kingston.
