One of 7 inmates who escaped St. Mary lock up, back in custody

Twenty-two-year-old Linton Bailey, who was among seven prisoners who escaped the Oracabessa lock-up in St. Mary two weeks ago is back behind bars.

According to the Port Maria police, Bailey was recaptured between 9:50 and 10: 30 AM today (January 4), during an operation in the Wilderness community in the parish.

Bailey was reportedly found in a vegetated area of the community and taken back into custody.

Meanwhile, Head of the St. Mary Police Division, Superintendent Bobette Morgan-Simpson, says the manhunt for the six remaining escapees is ongoing.

She is warning citizens that the men have been charged with serious offences, including murder, rape, and aggravated robbery, and should not be offered any safe havens.

The Superintendent also notes that it is an offence to harbour fugitives.

The other escapees are 24-year-old Tray Walker of Claremont, St. Ann, 25-year-old Jahmala Vernon of Boscobel, St. Mary, 22-year-old Phillip Williams of Belfield, St. Mary; 26-year-old Lashawn Davidson of Jacks River St. Mary, 21-year-old Nolando Akenson of Pimento Walk, St. Ann and Boscobel, St. Mary and 28-year-old Gaveen Hurd of Stony Hill, St. Andrew and Enfield, St. Mary.
