A joint police-military operation in Old Road, Thompson Pen, St. Catherine today led to the seizure of four pistols and three 9 millimeter rounds of ammunition.

One man was arrested in connection with the discovery.

His name is being withheld pending further investigations.

Head of the St Catherine North Police Senior Superintendent Hopton Nicholson said the operation which occurred about 12:30 this afternoon, was linked to a shooting incident last night.

The police reported that about 10:30 p.m., three individuals including two women, were at a shop when they were attacked by gunmen who opened fire, hitting them.

He said the police were alerted, and the victims were rushed to the hospital. The man is reported to be in critical condition.
