One dead, another hospitalized following Trelawny crash
One person is dead and another has been hospitalized following a collision along the Rio Bueno main Road in Trelawny on Sunday.
Police reports are that sometime after 3 p.m. there was a collision involving a motor truck and a car.
Details of how the accident occurred have not yet been released by the police.
The accident led to a pile up in traffic.
Up to early Sunday evening police were trying to remove the vehicles from the road way.
Meantime, the Island Traffic Authority is calling for increased caution when traversing the roadways, despite road crashes and fatalities trending down.
In the second quarter of 2023, 108 lives were lost to road crashes with motor cyclists accounting for the highest, followed by pedestrians and private motor vehicle drivers.
As at Friday October 6, 307 lives have been lost to road crashes, resulting from 286 fatal collisions.
