Officials at Northern Caribbean University say students fearful following recent murders in adjoining communities
Officials at the Manchester-based Northern Caribbean University have raised concern about the safety of students following three recent murders in adjoining communities.
The University’s Director of Campus Safety and Security, Renox Seivwright says some students are living in fear.
Speaking at a community meeting in Albion last evening, Mr. Seivwright explained that students who live and work in the area are apprehensive about their safety.
Responding to the concern, Inspector Simon McCormack, sub-officer in charge of the Mandeville police station said a crime reduction strategy is being implemented.
He encouraged residents to assist the police.
