Ocho Rios Fire Station building renamed in honor of firefighter who died on the job
The Ocho Rios Fire Station building has officially been renamed to the Larenzo Garnet Douse Memorial building.
This was done in honor of the late firefighter, who died in a tragic accident while he was actively on duty, in Ocho Rios St. Ann in November last year.
The official renaming ceremony was held today at the fire station which hosted attendees including Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie, officials of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, representatives of the St. Ann Municipal Corporation and family and friends of the deceased.
Mr. McKenzie said there was agreement between representatives of both political parties to rename the station building.
He also underscored the significance of honoring young people for their service to the country.
