NWC urged to offer temporary meter connections
Opposition Spokesman on Water Ian Hayles is urging the National Water Commission (NWC) to implement what he calls a “good faith” system that would allow customers to apply for temporary meter connection.
He explained that under this initiative, customers would be given 90 days within which to regularize their status.
Mr. Hayles said this would help the NWC tackle the non-revenue water problem.
He also pointed out that squatters still have a need for legal access to potable water.
