The National Water Commission (NWC) is conducting assessments following a chemical leak at the Mona Reservoir in St. Andrew today.

In a statement, the NWC said the chlorine leak was quickly contained and remedied through the coordinated efforts of its emergency response team, the supplier and the Jamaica Fire Brigade.

It said as the response was underway, the NWC contacted a number of neighbouring premises to provide updates on the situation and the steps being taken to address it.

The company is urging anyone who may have been affected and is experiencing symptoms to seek medical attention.
