NWC and JPS collaborate in preparation for hurricanes.

Water Minister Matthew Samuda says the National Water Commission (NWC) has been working closely with the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) in the last 12 months in preparation for another hurricane.

Speaking at a press briefing Sunday, Mr. Samuda said since hurricane Beryl last year the NWC and JPS have been collaborating.

He said the JPS knows all the critical infrastructure and all the priorities of the NWC in the event of a hurricane.

He said the government has also identified over 50 generators which can help to bring back about 80% of customers within 3 days.

He explained that there are also mobile generators which will go into more remote communities after the hurricane.
