NWA to clear blocked drains and roads in sections of Western Jamaica impacted by recent flooding
The National Works Agency (NWA) says it will soon begin clearing blocked drains and affected roadways in sections of western Jamaica that were impacted by last week’s flooding.several communities in Hanover and Westmoreland were inundated .
Community Relations Officer at the NWA, Janel Ricketts says the agency is now addressing blocked drains and several landslips left in the aftermath of the flooding.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ricketts notes that the agency is finalising clean-up efforts that have been underway following hurricane Melissa.
She also says the NWA has implemented a $328 million Road Patching Programme to address roadways that were damaged by hurricane Melissa.
