NWA continues work to restore access to roadways blocked following the passage of Tropical Storm Rafael

The National Works Agency (NWA) says work continues on roadways which were rendered impassable due to the impact of Tropical Storm Rafael.

Among the roads are the Bog Walk Gorge, the Bartons to Ginger Ridge Main Road in St. Catherine and the main road from Union to Vauxhall or from Appleton to Magotty in St. Elizabeth.

Speaking to IRIE FM News this morning, NWA’s Communications Manager, Stephen Shaw said work is being done on the Bog Walk Gorge and the Bartons to Ginger Ridge Main Road.

However he said a decision will have to be made by government regarding what will be done for the main road from Union to Vauxhall.

Mr. Shaw said assessments continue to determine the cost of damage to the island’s road network.
