The Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) says only a portion of its members has received their December salary.

The nurses are among several public sector groups, who have complained about the late payment of this month’s salary, especially under the Government’s new compensation system. The system was implemented this week.

NAJ’s Third Vice President, Venice Vacres-Reid said some nurses have been receiving salaries from about 3: 40 this afternoon (December 21).

She said nurses from the western region have been paid.

She added that only school nurses have so far reported that they have received pay, under the old salary scale.
