NSWMA receives 50 new garbage trucks

Fifty new garbage trucks have been handed over to the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).

The trucks, valued at approximately $1.3 billion JMD are expected to enhance the collection and transportation of solid waste across the island.

They were officially handed over by Prime Minister Andrew Holness today during a ceremony at the National Heroes Park.

According to Mr. Holness, the trucks will bolster the operations and capabilities of the NSWMA.

In the meantime, Mr. Holness said government wants to promote the separation of garbage at the household level.
