NSWMA making progress with garbage backlog
The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says the backlog of uncollected garbage across the island, should be cleared by the end of today.
Following the handing over of 50 garbage trucks to the agency late last month, the NSWMA said it would be seeking to clear the backlog of uncollected garbage across the island, within two weeks.
Providing an update to IRIE FM News, Executive Director of the NSWMA, Audley Gordon, said the backlog has been cleared in 3 of the 4 regions.
He said there are still reports of a backlog in the MPM Waste Management region, which covers Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Thomas and St. Catherine.
