NRSC pleads with motorists to desist from speeding following tragic Trelawny crash which killed four

Following Sunday’s tragic motor vehicle crash in Trelawny in which four persons died and two others were injured, the Road Safety Council is pleading with motorists to desist from speeding.

Vice Chairman of the Council Dr Lucien Jones, said with four people dying in one crash, it could only mean that someone was driving at excessive speed.

He called the accident a disaster.

He called on motorists to heed the data, which indicate that if people reduce their average driving speed by 5 percent, the number of road crashes would decline by 30 percent.

He said the injuries sustained by the two occupants in the Audi motor car are not life threatening.
